Bigg Boss 20 X reviews: Upset with line-up, internet already wants wild cards

Bigg Boss 20 has barely opened its doors, but X users are already handing out their verdicts. After the premiere on Sunday, the internet was split down the middle. Some viewers were excited about the fresh line-up, while others were left wondering who exactly some of these contestants were. And yes, a few were already asking for wild cards. The list of participants has already divided the audience right from the start. While names such as Mary Kom, Kanika Mann, Yung DSA, ScoutOP, Gullu and Uditi Singh found early support, others were not quite sold on the line-up. Basically, Bigg Boss 20 has already managed to get people talking. Mission accomplished, perhaps? One X user was particularly unimpressed, writing, "Sastaa Bigg Boss 20 Looks Like All Chapris Enter In The House. I don't even know half of these people (sic)." Another viewer, however, was clearly having a good time and asked, "Am I the only one enjoying the current line up of contestants in bigg Boss 20? It's fun (sic)."Some viewers have already picked their favourites after just one episode. "Bigg boss 20 day 1 favourites: Yung Dsa, Gullu, Scout, Uditi #biggboss20 (sic)," one user posted. Olympic-winning boxer Mary Kom's entry also got the internet talking. One viewer was thrilled to see the boxing champion enter the house and wrote, "Mary Kom stepping into the Bigg Boss house with a 6-time world champion aura? Now THAT is how you start a season!"The user also praised the forest-themed house and the show's "2X lifelines", adding that the season was "playing chess while others played checkers".But, of course, X being X, there was another reaction to Mary Kom's entry: "Mary Kom aisi kya majburi thi?" Same contestant, very different review. The fresh faces also found some love. One viewer defended the casting and wrote, "In toh liking bigg boss 20! new faces, new vibes. Everyone's saying they ain't famous so what's wrong in that? Atleast they won't image concious and we'll get to see different kind of people, so done with 'purane contestants wapis chahiye'."Kanika Mann, meanwhile, already has some fans firmly in her corner. One viewer, who said they had followed her since Khatron Ke Khiladi 12, called her a "very strong contestant" and wished her luck for the season. Not everyone was ready to give the contestants a standing ovation, though. One blunt post summed up its mood with, "Bigg Boss ki contestant list dekh ke mood hi off ho gaya."The social media chatter also showed just how unfamiliar some of the contestants are to parts of the audience. Questions doing the rounds included, "Manoj Tiwari ki beti kaun?", "MC Stan jaisa kaun aaya hai?", "Scout? Gullu??" and "Kitni boring hogi na live feed?" Well, the audience certainly has questions. And then came the wild-card brigade. One X user pointed out that viewers were demanding a wild-card contestant before the show had even properly got going. They argued that with reality shows now running almost throughout the year, Bigg Boss needs to do more to keep viewers hooked. There are already predictions about the winner, too. One viewer backed Kushal Tanwar, aka Gullu, and suggested that his winning streak could continue. "He excels in both tasks and entertainment," the user wrote, predicting that he could go on to win his fourth reality show.Bigg Boss 20 has brought 15 contestants into the house this season. The line-up includes Kanika Mann, Aasif Khan, Qazi Ahmad Tauqeer, Isha Rikhi, Amrapali Dubey, Rohed Khan, MC Mary Kom, Harsh Machare aka Yung DSA, Tanmay Singh aka ScoutOP, Arishfa Khan, Kushal Tanwar aka Gullu, Aman Gandhi, Uditi Singh, Rhiti Tiwari and Mahhi Vij. The mix brings together actors, singers, creators, a gamer, a sportsperson and reality TV personalities.Salman Khan had also teased a major twist before the season began. The actor spoke about an "extra jeevan daan" for the contestants and hinted that it would not be quite as straightforward as it sounds. For now, Bigg Boss 20 has already done what it does best: get people talking. The show will stream on JioHotstar every night at 9 pm and air on ColorsTV at 10:30 pm.- EndsPublished On: Sep 7, 2026 13:24 IST
