Best Memes and TikToks After Midterms’ Blue Wave, From Regina George to ‘The Office’ References

The internet has not been disappointed with its reactions to the blue wave during the 2026 Midterms on Tuesday, when Democrats flipped both the U.S. House and Senate. It was a tough night for Republicans as Democrats flipped Senate seats in several battleground and ruby-red states, including Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kansas, Iowa, Ohio and Maine, and held on to seats in Georgia and Michigan. As for the House, they also flipped more than two dozen districts. As conservatives grapple with what went wrong, liberals are reveling in their big wins, specifically with memes and TikTok flooding social media. Some people are even using clips from popular movies and TV shows — such as The Office, Avengers: Endgame, Breaking Bad, Mean Girls and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby — to express their euphoric feelings as well as take jabs at President Donald Trump, who is undoubtedly frustrated. Some are also taking a moment to shout out some of the notable Democratic winners, including James Talarico, who won the Texas Senate race; Senator Jon Ossoff, who was reelected in Georgia; Abdul El-Sayed, who won the Michigan Senate Race; and Annie Andrews, who won the Senate race in South Carolina; among others. Others are celebrating history-making wins, such as Chris Pappas becoming the first openly gay man elected to the Senate and Keisha Lance Bottoms becoming the first-ever Black woman elected governor in any state with her win in Georgia.
