The event received amused reactions online from users.Bengaluru hosts its first Bridgerton-inspired ball, it looks straight out of the show (Photos: @togetherapp.in/Instagram)Bengaluru briefly traded its pubs and party scenes for the ton as the city hosted its first-ever Bridgerton-inspired ball, complete with Regency-era fashion, candlelit dinners, dance cards and enough elegance to make Lady Whistledown take notice.A video of the event was shared by Together Social Club, the organisers, who hosted the “Lady Whistledown Affair," Bengaluru’s first-ever Bridgerton Ball.The evening brought together guests dressed in smart outfits, along with photo booths, ballroom dancing and candlelit settings designed to recreate the world of the popular period drama.For the uninitiated, Bridgerton is Netflix’s hit period drama set in Regency-era London, following the romantic lives, rivalries and scandals of the aristocratic Bridgerton family and other members of the high society. A major part of the show’s appeal lies in its lavish balls, elaborate costumes, romance and, of course, the sharp-tongued commentary of the mysterious Lady Whistledown.And Bengaluru’s version appeared to have embraced all of it. In the video, a man dressed in a smart suit and a woman in a flowing dress were seen facing each other before performing a formal bow. The two then joined hands and began dancing, with their outfits and movements taking cues from the elegant world of the show.The setting added to the mood, with candlelight, dressed-up guests and spaces for photographs making the evening look less like a regular night out and more like a scene from the show.Watch the video here:The video of the event also had social media users wondering how they had somehow missed it.
