BBC commentator gaffe leaves fans in stitches as A-list celeb mistaken for totally different singer at World Cup final

BBC commentator Guy Mowbray made a hilarious mistake when celeb spotting at the World Cup final. Argentina and Spain were a quarter of an hour into their New Jersey showdown when the TV cameras panned to a well-known face in the crowd. Quickly realising that he had got the name of the musician he was thinking of wrong, Mowbray corrected himself: “Or ASAP Rocky, sorry.” What he had not yet realised was that he was thinking of the wrong person entirely. One wrote on X: “Not sure what’s funnier, Guy Mowbray calling ASAP Rocky ‘AKA’, or the fact he was actually looking at Pharrell Williams.” Another added: “This killed me because they normally just go quiet whenever a celebrity they don’t know gets the spotlight.
