​ Barbados passport keeps strong standing

Barbados has strengthened its position as a regional leader in global travel, placing 39th worldwide in the latest passport mobility index. The country ranks first within CARICOM, third among North American nations, and fourth across the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States. ​”This latest index demonstrates the immense global respect and diplomatic strength that the Barbadian passport continues to command,” said travel mobility analyst Mark Reynolds. “To lead CARICOM and rank tenth out of 56 Commonwealth nations is a clear testament to the country’s robust international relations and international trust.” The Barbadian passport allows entry to more than 100 countries without a visa, with many others offering visa‑on‑arrival or simplified entry. Barbadian travellers enjoy full access across Europe and the Caribbean, with no traditional visas required for any European destination. South America and North America also provide broad access. Mobility remains solid across Africa, Asia and the Middle East, though requirements differ from country to country. Despite the passport’s strong performance, travel freedom is not always reciprocal. Barbados ranks 37th on the report’s welcoming index, showing that some countries offer Barbadians fewer entry privileges than they receive. Citizens of 33 countries can enter Barbados without a full visa, yet Barbadians still face strict requirements when travelling to those same nations, including the United States, Australia, Qatar and New Zealand. Barbados also maintains visa requirements for citizens of eight countries — among them Bosnia and Herzegovina, Haiti and the Dominican Republic — even though Barbadians enjoy easier entry when visiting those states.
