The ITV soap delivered yet another action-packed outing this evening (Monday, September 7), which saw the fallout of Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) colossal confession. The Woolpack icon, as viewers know, told granddaughter Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) – who she was a surrogate mother for – that baby Leyla isn’t hers, revealing how she slept with Ross Barton (Michael Parr) after the embryo transfer didn’t take. Sarah’s world fell apart and, after assembling together everyone who knew the secret, she attempted to come up with a way forward – before ordering Charity out of her life once and for all. Sadie King (Patsy Kensit), meanwhile, managed to get on Nicola’s (Nicola Wheeler) good side – but it seems her claims that Jimmy (Nick Miles) had a secret relationship with her for three years might not be as accurate as she’s making out. The ITV soap – alongside Coronation Street – are missing from Tuesday’s (September 8) schedules due to the National Television Awards, which air live in the soaps’ usual slots.
