Babyshambles, Ash and Cast to headline Shiiine On Weekender 2027 in Skegness

Shiiine On Weekender have announced the first wave of names for their 2027 edition, with Babyshambles, Ash and Cast leading the way. Set to bring a “huge celebration of indie, alternative, and dance music”, the Friday edition will see a huge headline set from Cast, who are set to perform at the festival for the first time. Joining them on that day will be Black Grape, Jim Bob, Reverend & The Makers, The Futureheads, and The Rifles. For Saturday, Babyshambles will make their debut at Shiiine On Weekender and be joined by fellow indie acts Gene and Ned’s Atomic Dustbin on the bill, while Sunday will see Ash perform for another headline set, alongside Starsailor and Sleeper on the final night. Other big names on the line-up so far include Buzzcocks, The Selecter, The Sultans of Ping, EMF, Puressence, The Dub Pistols, The Farm, Dubstar, Ozric Tentacles, Banco de Gaia, Senser, The Supernaturals, and China Drum. The acoustic stage will host The Bluetones and Chris Helme, and outside of the live music planned, there will also be a Sunday night closing party organised by Tim Burgess alongside Star Shaped. There is also comedy from Rob Newman and Terry Christian, as well as quizzes, bingo, pool parties, and the return of Rave On – a dance stage led by The Sabres of Paradise, The Orb.Bez, Steve Davis, James Atkin and Kavus Torabi.Recommended Across the festival, there is accommodation on site, meaning there are no tents or campsites. The headline slot from Babyshambles comes as frontman Pete Doherty recently spoke to NME alongside Josh Pugh about their new project The Pete Doherty Show, which features guests Sleaford Mods‘ Jason Williamson, EastEnders icon Natalie Cassidy, Richard Bacon, comedians Ivo Graham and Jamali Maddix, and many more. Speaking about some of the interviews he has done on the show so far, Doherty told us: “Jason Williamson was brilliant, and there have been things I’ve wanted to ask him for a long time. I thought Natalie Cassidy from EastEnders was great because she was such a massive celebrity. Credit: Andy Ford for NME The indie giants reunited for their first shows together in over a decade last year – following the sad death of original guitarist Patrick Walden – playing a closing show of the tour at London’s KOKO back in December. Babyshambles then announced the release of ‘Live At KOKO‘ through Doherty’s label Strap Originals, arriving on October 9. Speaking to us again at the end of August, the singer was asked about progress on a new Babyshambles album. “There are bits and bobs, as there always tends to be with Babyshambles. You’ve got four creative people and there are some good ideas,” he said. “It’s all a bit wide open, which is a good position to be in. There’s no pressure. We’re not contracted to anyone or signed to anyone as a band. We just exist as this autonomous collective in the midst of the music industry. I like it. “It’s not like being young and in your only band and you’re desperate to get somewhere with it. I don’t think we could ever recreate what we did before. It’s quite a precious space we’re in at the moment. We’re kind of armed and dangerous, Babyshambles. We’ve got these amazing songs and some amazing characters. We’ll keep it as it is for now. Obviously if we write 12 amazing songs all together then we’d have to make a record.”
