Autorickshaw driver dies, judge among two injured in accident near district court in Mangaluru

Vinay, were injured in an accident involving a cargo autorickshaw, a judge’s car, and a two-wheeler, near the district court in Mangaluru on September 29.In the complaint filed at Mangaluru East Traffic Police Station, Mr. Vinay said he was driving his car towards the court from his residence at Hathill. Around 10 a.m., as he approached from Radha Medicals store to the road leading to the court building, the cargo autorickshaw was coming down the court road. The autorickshaw veered to the right and hit Mr. Vinay’s vehicle. The autorickshaw overturned and hit a scooter.Autorickshaw driver 65-year-old Chandru, the man on the scooter, and Mr. Vinay were injured.The police said Chandru succumbed to his injuries while being taken to a nearby hospital. The scooter driver was undergoing treatment in a hospital while Mr. Vinay was treated for a minor injury.The police registered a case against Chandru. Published - September 29, 2026 04:31 pm IST
