ASEAN Community in Doha organizes blood donation drive

The ASEAN Community in Doha brought together diplomats and community members for a blood donation on Friday as part of efforts to support Qatar’s ongoing blood donation needs.The ASEAN Community in Doha (ACD) organised the “ASEAN Community in Doha Blood Donation Drive” at the Qatar National Blood Donation Centre in Doha on Friday, 4 September.The programme, led by the Embassy of Malaysia in Doha, received approximately 100 registrations of interest from members of the ASEAN community residing in Qatar who wished to participate in the humanitarian initiative.All seven ACD Ambassadors attended the event.It formed part of ACD’s efforts to give back to the host country, particularly in light of ongoing appeals and the continued need for blood donations.The programme reflected the spirit of solidarity, volunteerism and humanitarian values among the ASEAN community in Qatar.Malaysian Ambassador to Qatar Faizal Razali expressed appreciation to all ambassadors, embassy officials and community members who participated in the initiative.Razali also highlighted the importance of community support and compassion in helping to save lives.The ACD also expressed its sincere appreciation to Hamad Medical Corporation, Qatar National Blood Donation Services, volunteers and all parties involved for their valuable support and cooperation in ensuring the success of the programme.Such initiatives further strengthen the close friendship, goodwill and people-to-people ties between ASEAN and Qatar, while showcasing the positive contributions of the ASEAN community towards Qatari society.There are seven ASEAN Member States represented in Qatar: Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam.
