ASDS launches master’s degree programme on research methodologies in strategic studies

Muscat: The Academy of Strategic and Defence Studies (ASDS) has launched a Master’s programme in “Research Methodologies for Strategic and Foresight Studies”. The programme seeks to offer an educational experience designed to meet the evolving needs of researchers, analysts and policymakers, within the framework of curricula featuring strategic dimensions that align with academic standards.The programme is envisaged to enhance the participants' skills in understanding advanced research methodologies, enabling them to evaluate critical issues, identify trends and draw evidence-based conclusions. It also aims to foster a culture of lifelong learning and continuous professional development, promote a comprehensive understanding of complex strategic issues and encourage the spirit of initiative and innovation. As part of the programme, the participants will gain research experience within the framework of training via internships, the implementation of graduation projects and through collaboration with industry partners.The first batch of the programme is set to begin on 20 September 2026 with the participation of personnel from military, security and civil units.
