Asda overhauls its entire biscuit aisle with TWENTY new treats – as it brings back iconic chocolate bar after 29 years

A MAJOR UK supermarket chain is bringing back classic biscuit flavours, with prices starting from just £1. The retailer has revamped its sweet treat aisle with 20 brand-new own-label launches. As well as the return of the Puffin, Asda has also reinvented its biscuit aisle with a number of new lines, including chocolate-coated Custard Creams and Bourbons. The range will also include brand new buys such as the Butterscotch Biscuit Bars and the new Double Snap Biscuit Bars, which feature twin wafer fingers coated in thick, creamy milk chocolate. And the Duo Biscuits range will combine milk and white chocolate treats, while the upgraded Milk Chocolate Digestives will be levelled up with even more chocolate. Break & Go biscuits will also be available for £1.95 for a 6-pack, offering a crunchy biscuit sandwich filled with chocolate-flavoured cream and smothered in milk chocolate, perfect for an everyday chocolate fix. And the launch will see Asda expand its premium offering with the Exceptional Sicilian Lemon Shortbread Fingers, which are handmade in Scotland. Over 150 biscuit varieties were tasted by Asda’s Biscuit Product Manager, Becky Beecham, to create the final range. Most read in Money “For us, this overhaul has really been about giving customers more of what they love, while also bringing something new to the aisle,” Beecham said. “We’ve looked at different formats, flavours, and levels of indulgence, while making sure there’s still strong value across the range.” As well as bringing back the Puffin and adding even more chocolate to our Digestives, Becky added that Asda is “also creating completely new biscuit bars, to make sure there are lots of reasons for customers to rediscover the biscuit aisle”. “We’re really excited for people to try them,” she concluded. And there’s even something for savoury fans with the introduction of the £1.30 Exceptional Flatbreads, which are perfect for sharing and cheeseboards.
