Courtesy of Moises Trending on Billboard Dance artists Armin van Buuren and Laidback Luke have been named as the first members of Moises’ Artist Partnerships program. As part of their work with Moises, the two will help to shape the company’s new producer and DJ-focused tools and to provide feedback on the future of music technology. News of this addition follows about six months after the appointment of Charlie Puth as Moises’ chief music officer. Moises is an AI music platform that trains its models on only licensed and authorized music. The platform has a large number of tools for creatives, like stem separation and isolation, mastering and chord identification, and it has partnerships with a number of music companies, including Fender, Ableton. (Whitney Houston‘s estate, Blackstar Amps and Cory Henry are also working with Moises.) Related The press release notes that “over the coming months the company plans to announce additional high-profile artists and producers across genres” to further add to its stable of partners. According to Geraldo Ramos, founder and CEO of Moises, the company believes beginning with dance producers as partners is a good match, given “electronic music has always moved forward because artists were willing to experiment with new technology.” “Technology has always been part of how electronic music evolves,” van Buuren agreed. “What matters is whether the artist stays in control. Moises approaches AI with respect for the musician’s own sound and decision-making, and I’m excited to help build tools that make producers faster and more expressive without taking the creativity out of their hands.” “Every generation of producers gets new tools, but the best tools do not do the work for you,” said Laidback Luke. “They help you hear more, learn faster, and make stronger creative decisions. That is the kind of AI I want young producers to grow up with.” “The next generation of creative tools has to be built with musicians, not around them. Armin and Luke understand the craft, the community, and the responsibility that comes with building tools musicians will actually use,” Ramos continued. According to a press release from Moises, the company has 80 million users across 190 countries. To date, its top markets are the U.S., Brazil, Mexico, India, Indonesia, Japan, Turkey and France. In total 2.5 million minutes of audio are processed through Moises daily. Daily newsletters straight to your inbox Sign Up More From Pro
