Apple's September 9 event could be its biggest iPhone launch in years, with the iPhone 18 Pro series, a much-rumoured foldable iPhone, new Apple Watch models and possibly updated AirPods expected to make an appearance. The event, titled “Surprise and shine”, will take place at Apple Park on September 9 at 10:30PM IST.Apple will stream the event live on its website, the Apple TV app and YouTube and you can catch all the live action there. So, here's a quick roundup of what to expect.iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max: The main attractionThe biggest announcements are expected to revolve around the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Apple has not confirmed any of the leaked specifications, but reports suggest the Pro models could get a new A20 Pro chip, improved battery life and significant camera upgrades. One of the more interesting leaks points to a variable-aperture main camera only on the Pro Max. Unlike a fixed aperture, this could give the camera greater control over how much light reaches the sensor, potentially improving photography across different lighting conditions.The Pro models are also expected to retain the familiar 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch display sizes, while Apple could make the Dynamic Island smaller. There has also been speculation around under-display Face ID, although this remains far from confirmed.Finally a foldable iPhone? This is perhaps the biggest reason to watch Apple’s event this year. After years of rumours, Apple is widely expected to unveil its first foldable iPhone.The device is reportedly being referred to as the “iPhone Ultra” and could use a book-style folding design, similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series. The Apple Watch Series 12 and a new Apple Watch Ultra are expected to feature among the announcements, with reports pointing to new health-tracking capabilities and potentially a return of the ceramic case.It is expected that the new AirPods could also make an appearance. Rumours suggest Apple may add new health-related sensors and other upgrades, although the more ambitious camera-equipped AirPods are reportedly still some time away.There are also whispers about Apple’s broader smart-home plans, including a possible home hub with a display.
