While audiences eagerly await Nitesh Tiwari’s grand cinematic adaptation of Sage Valmiki's ancient text, another epic retelling of the Ramayana is set to hit the big screen first. The makers of Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha – Shri Ram Ki have unveiled the film’s first poster and teaser, announcing that the bilingual project will release in cinemas across India ahead of Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana: Part One.Shot in Hindi and Chhattisgarhi, Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha – Shri Ram Ki is directed by Abhishek Singh. The first poster places Shri Ram and Mata Sita, played by actors Dev Sharma and Anjali Arora, at the centre of the story. The teaser introduces the wider world of the Ramayana through themes of love, faith, sacrifice, maryada and dharma. The poster focusses on the relationship between Lord Ram and Goddess Sita, presenting it through faith, sacrifice, duty and devotion. Set against a spiritually evocative landscape, the two characters are positioned as the emotional anchors of a story that has travelled across generations. The teaser extends that emotional thread through glimpses of Ayodhya, moments between Ram and Sita, and the journey into vanvaas. It also offers a look at the scale and spiritual setting in which the story unfolds. At the centre of the teaser is the film's core thought: an immortal saga of love, the infinite power of faith, the ultimate maryada of sacrifice, and an epic that has remained alive through the ages. The bond between the lead characters is presented as one shaped by separation, exile, adversity and destiny, while remaining rooted in dharma and maryada. While speaking about the ancient epic, director Abhishek Singh said, "The Ramayana contains everything, love, family, sacrifice, courage, devotion, duty and the eternal conflict between dharma and adharma. His name carries the faith and emotions of millions of people, and that brings with it an enormous responsibility.""I have tried to approach him with complete sincerity and devotion, and to understand the strength, compassion, patience and maryada that define him. I hope audiences, especially the younger generation, are able to connect with those values through our film," he added.Anjali Arora, who plays Mata Sita, said, "For me, playing Mata Sita has been one of the most emotional and responsible journeys of my life. She represents immense strength, dignity, patience and faith. Her love for Shri Ram is profound, but what inspires me equally is her inner courage and the grace with which she faces every trial.""I knew from the beginning that this character had to be approached with complete respect and sincerity. I hope audiences see the devotion and effort with which we have tried to bring her to the screen," she added. The film also features actors Sheel Verma as Lakshman, Nirbhay Wadhwa as Hanuman and Rajniesh Duggal as Ravan.
