Police stopped an Eeco ambulance which from the outside, appeared to be an ordinary ambulance. But the police suspected something was amiss and searched the vehicle.What they found inside left the police stunned.Nine sacks were recovered from the ambulance. When the sacks were opened, they were found packed with illegal cannabis. The total quantity was measured at 90 kilograms, with an estimated market value of around Rs 45 lakh. Police arrested the driver, identified as 45-year-old Ravindra Singh Bisht, a resident of Chauras under Kirtinagar police station in Tehri Garhwal.During interrogation, Bisht allegedly told police that he worked as an ambulance driver in Srikot. According to police, he had purchased the cannabis from the Rudraprayag area and planned to sell it at a higher price in Srinagar. The case has raised serious questions about the misuse of an emergency vehicle.
