Amazon, Walmart, Target: 6 products recalled for serious safety risks

Thousands of popular products sold nationwide by major retailers, including Amazon, Walmart and Target, are being recalled for serious safety risks. Hazards range from ingestion and choking to poisoning and entrapment — all of which could result in death. The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a string of recalls outlining potential dangers associated with the affected products, as well as instructions on what to look for to see if you have one and how to request a refund or credit. 20,000 toy sets sold on Amazon recalled after four choking reportsThe U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall of more than 20,000 Chillife 5-in-1 Montessori Baby Toy Sets on Aug. 27, citing a risk of respiratory distress and death. According to the agency, the sets contain pull-string teething toys featuring silicone strings that are smaller and longer than permitted under mandatory toy safety standards. The agency is aware of at least four choking incidents related to the product, though it reported that no medical attention was required. The recall affects approximately 20,134 units sold exclusively on Amazon.com between July 2023 and April 2026 for about $27.The toys feature an off-white disc-shaped ball with six long silicone strings of various colors. The model number, “CHILLIFE01”, is printed on the side of the product packaging. Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the pull-string teething toys and keep them away from children. To receive a partial refund of $5.40, consumers must destroy the toy by cutting all silicone strings and writing “DESTROYED” in permanent marker on the toy. A photo of the destroyed product must then be emailed to the company at chillifebabytoyrecall@outlook.com. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the expanded recall stems from a dangerous defect where “small metal wire bristles can detach from the brushes and stick to the grill or food, posing an ingestion hazard and risk of serious internal injuries that could require surgery.”Conair has received 54 reports of wire bristles detaching from the tools. This latest safety warning adds roughly 1.9 million brushes to an initial July 2026 recall of 1.7 million units, bringing the total number of impacted products to more than 3.6 million.The brushes were sold individually and within various grilling sets at major retailers including Walmart, Burlington, TJ Maxx and Ross, as well as online through Amazon and Cuisinart.com. The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall for Diamond Wipes International on Aug. 27, 2026, after determining its MD Wipe Outz Numbing Tattoo Wipes violate federal poison packaging safety standards. The products, packaged in boxes of 5, 10, 25 and 250, feature the Wipe Outz logo with the words “NUMB” and “Lidocaine Infused” printed on the front. The wipes were sold online through Amazon from September 2025 through June 2026, and through Shopify from September 2025 through May 2026. Retail prices ranged from about $7.50 to $225.No incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with the recalled products.Consumers are urged to immediately move the wipes away from children and to contact the manufacturer, Diamond Wipes International, Inc., for a full refund.
