One of America's largest ultra-low-cost carriers has cut a massive 25 routes from its winter schedule. This comes as Allegiant Air reevaluates seasonal routes and ponders the return of those flights next year. Three that last served in November last year will not operate this month, while January through August 2026 continue to see route cuts as the airline adjusts its schedule. Cirium data analyzed by Simple Flying shows many routes have been cut, and some airports are no longer served. A number of these services will now only operate across the summer. Allegiant Air Trims Its Winter Schedule By 25 Routes Credit: Markus Mainka | Shutterstock Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air is a US budget airline that offers no-frills, nonstop flying to destinations across the United States. The carrier has no international service and solely relies on the domestic US market. With a fleet of more than 120 aircraft, these are mixed between the Airbus A319, A320 and Boeing 737 MAX 7 and MAX 8-200. Reviewing historical flight schedules for 2025 and 2026, and comparing them to this winter's schedule, the airline has shaved 25 routes in total, with November seeing three routes absent from its network, including Myrtle Beach (MYR) to Niagara Falls (IAG), Phoenix (PHX) to Asheville (AVL), and Sarasota (SRQ) to Portsmouth (PSM). Including the airlines ultimate withdrawal from San Francisco's Oakland International Airport (OAK) airport. For April 2026, terminated routes include Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to Traverse City (TVC), and Orlando/Sanford (SFB) to Columbia (CAE). Comparing May 2026, routes no longer scheduled include Bellingham to Oakland (OAK), Bellingham to Palm Springs (PSP), Fort Lauderdale to Columbia, Fort Lauderdale to Huntington (HTS), Fort Lauderdale to Savannah (SAV), Las Vegas to Chattanooga (CHA), Punta Gorda (PGD) to New Orleans (MSY), and Phoenix (PHX) to Pittsburgh (PIT). Allegiant Continues To Cut Eight Routes In August Credit: Ryken Papy | Shutterstock The airline hasn't stopped there; although these routes are in the Northern Hemisphere summer season, they are currently not scheduled to operate in 2027. August route cuts include Asheville (AVL) to Chicago Midway (MDW), Bellingham to Burbank (BUR), Nashville to Akron/Canton (CAK), Washington Dulles (IAD) to Savannah, Jacksonville (JAX) to Des Moines (DSM), Las Vegas to Lexington (LEX), Portland (PDX) to Idaho Falls (IDA), and Sarasota (SRQ) to Nashville. This helps the airline turn a profit on low fares that require low operational costs and high aircraft utilization.
