The Chatty Man star and winner of Celebrity Traitors had no idea he was going to receive a special recognition award and was clearly taken aback when the surprise was annouced. After accepting his award, however, the 50-year-old comedian and presenter was taken into the winners’ room, where he was met by Metro’s own Asyia Iftikhar. There, the star was asked who he’d pick as his ‘dark horse winner’ when the stars gather at Claudia’s castle for The Celebrity Traitors season two. ‘Do you know what, I’m super excited about Miranda Hart because Miranda reminds me a bit of me and if they make her a Traitor, that is gonna be TV gold,’ he told us. He also warned us that his friend Joanne McNally ‘is a motormouth’ and we should expect her to be a ‘whirlwind.’ Alan was left lost for words after winning (Picture:Stuart C. Grant as well after his experience with Celia Imrie. Although he did admit, unlike the rest of the country, he wasn’t amused when she farted because, as he explained, ‘I was chained to her,’ before adding sarcastically, ‘hysterical.’ The special recognition award was kept a secret from Alan until tonight. As such, he seemed mystified when NTA host Joel Dommett announced the next award presentation was going to feature a musical number. When Paloma Faith was carried onto the stage in a coffin, though, singing I Know Him So Well, the pieces started to fall into place for Alan. This impressive musical number was followed by a video of Alan’s friends and colleagues explaining how incredible they found him and what an impressive talent he is. As the video played, Alan was left a sobbing mess, and there’s been an outpouring of support on X from those who approved of his reaction. ‘Soo happy for Alan Carr; what a great reaction,’ wrote @tvreality93.
