Air France Unexpectedly Reveals 2 New US Nonstop Routes: See Schedules Now

Published Oct 8, 2026, 9:00 AM EDT James lives and breathes route development. Educated in Air Transport Management at Loughborough University and Cranfield University, James has a PhD in Airline Strategy and Economics. He taught airline strategy and economics to undergraduate and postgraduate students for five years and has worked closely with multiple carriers on route and market intelligence projects. He is based near London, UK. Air France has revealed two new routes from its Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport (CDG) hub, with Nashville and San Diego joining its network. This follows the recent disclosure that flights from CDG to Denver will end this month and will not resume next year. The two new markets mean that the SkyTeam member plans 20 routes from CDG to the US next summer. It'll now have one more link than Lufthansa from Germany to the nation. However, when the Lufthansa Group's leisure unit, Discover Airlines, is included, they'll collectively have 26 routes. Discover effectively operates to certain places on behalf of its big brother, including Minneapolis, Orlando, and Philadelphia. That'll change now, with the French flag carrier launching service on May 14, 2027. Three weekly departures on the Airbus A350-900 will be available, with the following schedule. Air France will be the record fourth airline flying between Europe and BNA. It'll join Aer Lingus, which debuted from Dublin in 2025; British Airways, which arrived from London Heathrow in 2018; and Icelandair, whose Reykjavík flights launched last year. Will Lufthansa ever materialize, or would that be too much capacity? Days CDG To BNA; Local Times BNA To CDG; Local Times Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays AF38: 2:10 PM-4:40 PM AF39: 6:55 PM-10:15 AM+1 BNA will have gained three European airlines in two years. Unless things change again, the latest OAG data shows that the quartet plan 19 weekly flights from Europe next summer. BA will operate daily on the A350-1000, Aer Lingus will fly five times a week on the A321XLR, and Icelandair will run four times a week on the Boeing 737 MAX 9. Booking data for the 12 months to July 2026 shows that Paris was BNA's largest unserved European market, with 31,000 local round-trip passengers. Rome was next (27,000), followed by Amsterdam (21,000), Athens (19,000), and Frankfurt (17,000). As usual, the brand-new flights will grow Paris traffic strongly. The arrival of Aer Lingus from Dublin in 2025 more than doubled the local traffic in the first year, while Icelandair increased Reykjavík point-to-point passengers over 240% in the same period. Regular Flights To San Diego Are Coming While Air France has had some flights to San Diego International Airport (SAN) over the years, most recently in April 2026. They have been for major conferences, such as the American Society of Hematology. A regular operation has not existed, but that will now change. On May 17, 2027, Air France will lift off from CDG, with three weekly departures on the A350-900. The flight numbers (AF58/AF59) are currently used to/from Denver. At 4,729 nautical miles (8,758 km) each way, flights to SAN will become the SkyTeam member's new longest service to the US, overtaking those to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Days CDG To SAN; Local Times SAN To CDG; Local Times Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays AF58: 10:10 AM-12:50 PM AF59: 3:10 PM-11:05 AM+1 As with BNA, a record four European airlines will serve SAN on a regular basis for the first time. Air France will coexist with British Airways from Heathrow (two daily flights next summer on the 777-200ER/777-300ER); fellow SkyTeam operator KLM from Amsterdam, whose debut was in 2025 (three weekly services on the 787-10); and Lufthansa from Munich (daily on the A350-900). Condor operated from Frankfurt in 2017. Three weekly departures on the 737 MAX 8 will initially exist, increasing to four shortly thereafter for the peak summer. It'll be the first time that the route, which will cover 2,782 nautical miles (5,152 km) each way, has been served since the now-defunct WOW Air pulled out in 2019. It'll be Icelandair's 15th route to the US. STL will now be served by a record three European airlines. Icelandair will join BA from Heathrow, which debuted this year, along with Lufthansa from Frankfurt, whose flights started in 2022. Of course, part of the appeal for Icelandair is its partnership with Southwest Airlines. STL remains an important airport for connections, despite more focus on BNA nowadays. 2,500+ Southwest passengers transit at STL each day.
