Air Canada Launches 31 Major New Nonstop International Routes: See Full List Now

According Cirium, an aviation analytics company, the Montreal-based Canadian flag carrier and Star Alliance founding member is set to commence operations on some 31 new international routes from October onwards. From Montreal, its four new long-haul routes will serve Basel, Dubrovnik, Quito, and Tenerife South. Elsewhere, Air Canada will add flights from Toronto to Nice, Oslo, and Shannon, and from Vancouver to Guangzhou and Sapporo. Short-Haul From Toronto & Montreal With Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) being Air Canada's two main hubs in the east of the country, it figures that these facilities would also be at the heart of its international expansion. Indeed, its new routes from these airports don't just serve long-haul destinations; it has also added a selection of short-haul corridors to the US, Mexico, and the Caribbean. These routes are clearly targeting leisure travelers, particularly those seeking a bit of much-needed winter sun. From Toronto, passengers can expect new routes to La Aurora International Airport (GUA) in Guatemala City, Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport (MID) in Mérida, Mexico, and Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport (RTB) in Roatán, Honduras. Roatán will also be added from Montreal. Elsewhere, Air Canada passengers flying out of Montreal can also expect new flights to Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA) in Oranjestad, Aruba, and Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) in Santo Domingo, among Caribbean additions. Closer to home, Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers will also be added, with 14 rotations penciled in from Montreal. Other Additions Elsewhere Air Canada's remaining international additions have an impressive geographical spread, from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) in the west to Halifax in the east. Starting with Vancouver, short-haul additions to Liberia, Mazatlan, Monterrey, and Puerto Escondido complement its pair of new long-haul routes, while Edmonton will soon be linked to Montego Bay.
