"Every Day Is A Level Up" WARNING: SPOILERS FOR ONE PIECE CHAPTER #1197One Piece's Elbaph arc has hit an extreme turning point that's finally seen two of the Straw Hat pirates receive considerable upgrades, but their epic power-ups are only an appetizer for what Eiichiro Oda is cooking up next. The Knights of God, Saint Sommers and Killingham, had been supercharged by the secret King of the World in order to secure an escape with the kidnapped giant children. But now that they are no longer able to accomplish that goal, Zoro and Sanji are free to move onto an even more epic confrontation. The current arc has been a flurry of excitement and twists that have put the Straw Hat crew in direct confrontations with the World Government's highest-level enforcers. Each is blessed with some of One Piece's most powerful Devil Fruit abilities, and bodies that only a handful of characters are capable of damaging. The shadowy organization has been secretly controlling the world with an iron fist, with the Holy Knights acting as its last line of defense to do their leader's, Saint Nerona Imu's, bidding. Unfortunately for the Knights, their opponents were Zoro and Sanji. While the Straw Hats' most skilled fighters can easily be considered among the world's strongest characters, they lacked the ability to control the one power that can harm any Logia Devil Fruit user and those blessed with Imu's immortality-giving covenant: Conqueror's Haki. However, their latest fights only pushed Zoro and Sanji to a level closer to Luffy's considerable standing. The Monster Trio Is Back In A Big Way Now that Zoro has learned how to control his vast amounts of Conqueror's Haki and Sanji has learned to stop holding himself back, manifesting his own, the two will be able to play vital roles in helping their captain achieve his dreams. With the Holy Knights most likely being taken out of the picture, Luffy's teammates can make their way to Elbaph's main battle to help their captain. And with their newly gained ability to control Conqueror's Haki, the Monster Trio seems primed to fight the King of the World, Saint Nerona Imu, together. It has been a very long time since the Straw Hats' Monster Trio has teamed up and gone all out to take on a powerful foe. And now that they have all leveled up considerably, it would be a real treat to see Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji fighting together. With the Straw Hat captain and Loki currently having a hard time keeping Imu down, they could use the backup, and watching them all take on the villain who's been pulling the corrupt World Government's strings for centuries would easily rank as one of One Piece’s most epic moments. Imu Is The Perfect Opponent For Zoro And Sanji To Test Their New Powers Technically, the last time Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji worked together was not that long ago. The Elbaph arc's strange opening in Road's Lego-like castle featured a huge lion seconds away from eating Usopp and Nami until the Monster Trio arrived. They swiftly defeated and calmed the kitty down, and also provided subtle foreshadowing that the three could be working together again against the Elbaph arc's ultimate antagonist. The last time they went all out to struggle against a specific foe was the Pacifista on the Sabaody Archipelago before One Piece’s time skip. And they have come so far since then. When Imu suddenly appeared on Elbaph, his otherworldly appearance that author Eiichiro Oda had been hiding for years was suddenly brought to light. Along with him came a considerable aura that literally shook the island of the Giants' homeland, and it didn’t take him long to prove he was more than an intimidating appearance. After Imu, who'd been a top candidate for One Piece’s final boss for years, arrived on Elbaph, he quickly regained the World Government’s control of the hostile situation. He easily swatted away Sanji and Zoro, arguably making the swordsmen break their promise to Luffy about never losing a battle. But now, the Monster Trio is stronger than ever and ready to deliver what could be one of One Piece’s greatest team-up moments against the secret World Leader.
