Additional pension restored for elderly pensioners in Andhra Pradesh: AP JAC

The Andhra Pradesh government has issued orders restoring the additional quantum of pension for retired State government employees aged 70 and 75 years, the AP JAC Amaravati said on Tuesday.AP JAC Amaravati leaders Bopparaju Venkateswarlu and Palisetti Damodara Rao welcomed the issuance of G.O.Ms.No.126, dated September 22, 2026, and thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for acting on the assurance given on September 5.Under the earlier provisions, pensioners aged 70 years and above were entitled to an additional 10% pension, while those aged 75 years and above received an additional 15%. However, during discussions on the 11th Pay Revision Commission in 2022, the additional pension was reduced to 7% for those aged 70 and 12% for those aged 75.The AP JAC Amaravati leaders said the organisation had been pursuing restoration of the earlier rates for the past three years. The issue was raised before the Joint Staff Council and the Group of Ministers and was also made a key demand during its recent agitation.With the latest Government Order restoring the additional pension, a long-pending demand of retired State government employees had been resolved, Mr. Venkateswarlu and Mr. Damodara Rao said. They thanked retired employees who had supported the organisation’s efforts.AP JAC Amaravati associate chairman T.V. Phani Perraju and treasurer Thimmasarthi Nageswara Rao also welcomed the decision.AP State Government Retired Employees Association president P.S.S.N.P.
