In a video of the moment that has gone viral, the officer was seen leaning towards the protester and whispering to them before quietly clarifying their gender and proceeding with the detention.The protester was speaking to the media when a group of women police constables approached them. One of the officers leaned towards the protester and whispered something before the detention proceeded.The protester then told the officer, “You can’t detain me, ma’am. I’m a journalist, I have a card.” The officer asked, “You need women?” to which the protester responded, “I’m a transgender.” However, despite the clarification, the police personnel then escorted them away from the protest site. The incident occurred amid protests at Jantar Mantar, where demonstrators had gathered demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
