On Sunday, the Trump administration made its third appeal in less than six weeks to the Supreme Court, seeking to move ahead with implementing a role for the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) in overseeing mail ballots as some blue states try to block it. Setting aside the legal back-and-forth, the strange thing about the saga is that even if implemented, the USPS list-matching rule—the item at dispute in the litigation—would do nothing for election integrity.
