7 Major Nintendo Direct September 2026 Leaked Announcements

Nintendo's announcement that there would be a September Nintendo Direct surprised no one. There has routinely been a major Nintendo Direct every September (save for 2024) for years now, which has, consequently, made it as expected as Nintendo porting yet another old title to the Nintendo Switch for a premium price. However, what is perhaps a little less expected is exactly what would be announced during said Direct. There have been major predictions for the September Nintendo Direct, but until recently, no real information surrounding what people can expect to see during the showcase. However, now, as a result of a recently leaked poster (shared on X via GameVerse) from Australian retailer EB Games, we now know of seven announcements that will very likely be made during the event. Of course, as with all leaks, these should be taken with a grain of salt, but there is every chance that these seven games will appear in September's Nintendo Direct. 7 Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Nintendo Switch Sports Resort was announced back in June 2026, with a confirmed release date of October 22, 2026. It isn't a stretch then to imagine Nintendo featuring it during the September Nintendo Direct, which is airing just over a month before Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is set to be released. We'll likely get a more in-depth look at the various sports included, as well as some post-launch support information, including, potentially, the introduction of additional sports at a later date. This isn't the most surprising reveal (those are coming later in this list), but it is nice to see it get the spotlight once again, especially as it feels like it has the potential to be a fun addition to the Nintendo Switch 2's lineup. There aren't likely to be too many surprises when it comes to Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, so don't expect it to get too long of a showcase during the event. However, it's very likely it'll feature, regardless of whether this leak ends up being true. 6 Minecraft Much like Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, Minecraft for the Nintendo Switch 2 is already a fairly well-known quantity. Microsoft announced back on August 5, 2026, that the game would be coming to the Switch 2 natively, and it'll bring with it the Vibrant Visuals update that improves the game's visuals dramatically. One can likely expect a brief look at the game running on Nintendo's handy handheld with the enhanced visuals, as well as a rundown of all the other updates it'll benefit from. Minecraft is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27, 2026, so, again, its place in the September Nintendo Direct makes a lot of sense. There's only a month left until it launches, so Microsoft and Nintendo will want to promote it as much as possible. Of course, this isn't the only new Minecraft game releasing in 2026, but it's a big enough Switch 2 release for it to make a splash and warrant a place on the leaked EB Games poster, should it indeed turn out to be real. 5 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake was always going to appear during the September Nintendo Direct. It will likely have a lengthy dedicated spot during the 30-minute-long Direct dedicated to The Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary celebrations that will give us a rundown of exactly how different the remake will be and what changes it will have implemented. Nintendo has already confirmed key details about the Zelda 40th anniversary Direct, so its inclusion here should come as no surprise. What is important, however, is that the leaked EB Games poster revealed the release date for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. The poster has the release date listed as November 12, 2026, which is in line with recent leaked listings of the game from Swedish retailer Retrospelbutiken. If this ends up being true, then fans won't have long to wait for the upcoming remake to drop, with there having been a rather fast turnaround from announcement to release date. 4 Metroid: Ravenous One of the more interesting reveals from the leaked EB Games poster is the announcement of a brand-new Metroid game. Once again, it is worth noting that this leak has not been officially confirmed and thus should be taken with a grain of salt. However, if it is true, then we will be getting the announcement of Metroid: Ravenous during the September Nintendo Direct. The game is allegedly a new 2D entry in the beloved series, which will be the first one since Metroid: Dread back in 2021. For fans, this won't be the first time they've heard the name Metroid: Ravenous. A rating for the project was spotted on the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security's website back in July of this year by the website Universo Nintendo. It isn't particularly surprising, then, that we'd be seeing it during this Nintendo Direct, considering the announcement of a brand-new 2D Metroid game is a big deal. What is surprising is that the EB Games poster has it listed for a December 10, 2026, release date, meaning there will be just four months between its announcement and release. 3 Mario Sluggers: Globe-Trotters Another surprising reveal from the leaked poster was Mario Sluggers: Globe-Trotters. This would be the third Mario-themed baseball game, following on from 2008's Mario Super Sluggers, which was a sequel to Mario Superstar Baseball. We've had a few well-received Mario sports games on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, so it isn't all that surprising to see Nintendo continue to release even more of them. What is surprising is that it is supposed to be released on January 21, 2027, according to the leaked EB Games poster. That would mean we'll be getting six new Nintendo Switch 2 games in the span of just six months. It's not entirely unlikely, nor unheard of, but certainly a huge win for those who bought the console early in its lifespan. Of course, there's no word on what Mario Sluggers: Globe-Trotters will entail, if it is real, but expect a short overview of the game at the Direct. 2 The Duskbloods The Duskbloods was also included on the EB Games poster, something that isn't particularly shocking considering its recent playtests. Indeed, the hugely successful Duskbloods August playtest showcased that FromSoftware was cooking up something special, with the support of Nintendo, and that fans of its games had something memorable to look forward to. A trailer during the September Nintendo Direct makes a lot of sense. What is new information, though, should the EB Games poster leak end up being real, is that The Duskbloods is allegedly due to release during the holiday season of 2026. So far, all FromSoftware and Nintendo have said is that it'll launch in 2026, so this gives us a firmer idea of when exactly we can expect it. Of course, this is still not a strict release date, which gives FromSoftware a little wiggle room should it choose to delay the game for any particular reason. 1 Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave & Pokémon Pokopia: Bubbly Basin To cap things off, the EB Games poster showcased both Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave and the Pokémon Pokopia: Bubbly Basin DLC as being available now. This indicates the poster will go up after September 17, which is when Fortune's Weave is set to be released. Of course, Nintendo is going to spotlight Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave one last time before it comes out a few days after the September Direct airs. It is also possible that Pokémon Pokopia: Bubbly Basin will be shown off in a quick montage of games that have come to the Switch 2 recently, or even just those available now. It's also possible that we'll get a look at the upcoming Pokémon Pokopia DLC, which is scheduled to be released in 2027. Of course, as aforementioned, it is altogether possible that this EB Games poster leak is fake. However, should it transpire that it is real, and the information disclosed on it is true, then we are sure in for one impressive Nintendo Direct this September.
