No one takes shots at bad movies and performances quite like the Golden Raspberry Awards, better known as the Razzie Awards. While the Oscars celebrate the best movies of the year, the Razzies reward the worst movies of the year. It's supposed to be a joke, but the Razzies have sometimes taken cheap shots. Thankfully, the Razzies eventually put age limits on their nominations. The Razzies love ruffling feathers within the Hollywood community. Don't get me wrong—there are bad movies. However, the Razzies have some glaring misses. I'm thinking about the times when movies and actors were unfairly singled out by the Razzies. A few icons and Oscar winners are on this list, even though they didn't deserve the Razzie recognition. This list only includes those movies and actors who won Razzies. Adam Sandler in Big Daddy Hip, hip-hop, hip-hop-anonymous Adam Sandler might be the actor who puzzles critics the most. There have been moments throughout his career when Sandler has shown true greatness as an actor, particularly in Uncut Gems and Punch-Drunk Love. He's also such a comedic icon for Saturday Night Live and hits like Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison. I can't defend Jack & Jill and The Ridiculous Six. However, I'll go to bat for Big Daddy. Sonny Koufax (Sandler), for lack of a better word, is a loser. He's an unmotivated goof who was dumped by his girlfriend. One day, five-year-old Julian (Dylan and Cole Sprouse) shows up on his doorstep and changes his life. The immature goofball grows up and takes responsibility but still keeps that signature sense of humor. How does one of Sandler's most sincere performances win Worst Actor at the Razzies? As a form of payback, The Sandman should get to put the Razzie voters in a sleeper hold. Sandra Bullock in All About Steve A legendary weekend for the actress All About Steve is not going to be anyone's favorite rom-com. It's not even in the first tier of Sandra Bullock's filmography. Admittedly, there are some problems, particularly the storyline involving Bullock's character Mary, who becomes obsessed with Steve Miller (Bradley Cooper) and stalks him across the country. However, some of Bullock's indelible charm finds a way into this performance, and I'm a sucker for her quirky humor. I appreciate All About Steve because it gave us an iconic moment when Bullock accepted her Razzie for Worst Actress. Instead of ducking the ceremony, Bullock showed up and gave a hilarious acceptance speech. The very next night, Bullock won the Academy Award for Best Actress for The Blind Side. That's why she will always be one of America's Sweethearts. Sylvester Stallone as the Worst Actor of the Century A weird fixation on Rocky Balboa The Razzies are obsessed with Sylvester Stallone, and frankly, I probably need a stronger adjective. With 12 wins, Stallone is the most-awarded performer in Razzie history. I'm not going to fight the Razzies over Rhinestone and Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot. Stallone as a comedic star is a problem, but that's a different conversation for another day. Stallone won two noteworthy Razzies: Worst Actor of the Decade for the 1980s and Worst Actor of the Century for "99.5% of everything he has ever done." Stallone was one of the most important actors in Hollywood from 1975 to 2000. The Razzies consider Rambo: First Blood Part II, Rocky IV, Tango & Cash, Cliffhanger, and Daylight among his worst films. To sit here and say Stallone was the worst actor of the century is objectively false. Stallone might not be perfect, but I won't let the Razzies take him down like this. Bruce Willis in Armageddon I will make 800 feet Michael Bay's movies are not for everyone. They are unapologetically ridiculous thanks to unrealistic plots, outrageous explosions, and immature humor. I'd be lying if I said I don't like a little "Bayhem" from time to time. Armageddon is what I want out of Bay's movies, and Bruce Willis is the perfect hero to lead a group of oil drillers into space to destroy an asteroid heading for Earth. From his battles with Colonel Sharp to his ultimate sacrifice to save A.J., Willis fully embraces the over-the-top nature of the subject matter and delivers an extremely satisfying performance. The Razzies didn't think so and awarded Willis Worst Actor for Armageddon, Mercury Rising, and The Siege. You want to know why the Razzies completely whiffed on Armageddon? They nominated "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" for Worst Original Song. That same song received a Grammy and Oscar nomination. Swing and miss, Razzies. Demi Moore in G.I. Jane Failure is not an option What did the Razzies have against Demi Moore? From 1991 to 2000, Moore received six Razzie nominations for Worst Actress, including wins in 1997 for The Juror and Striptease and 1998 for G.I. Jane. Say what you want about Moore's career; she is not the problem in G.I. Jane. It took guts to follow up Striptease by taking on an action role in G.I. Jane. Moore plays Jordan O'Neil, a Navy Lieutenant who becomes the first female candidate to train for the fictional U.S. Navy Combined Reconnaissance Team (think Navy SEALs). With her shaved head and athletic physique, Moore definitely passed the test as a believable action hero. Considering she's still doing great work, I think Moore has had the last laugh. Check out these movies on streaming I hate when movies have terrible opening scenes. They completely take me out of the movie. I promise that you won't have these problems with The Dark Knight and Drive, two movies that are impossible to stop watching after the first scene.
