Dan joins How-To Geek as a Senior Editor. When he's not writing about entertainment, Dan is either watching a movie or praying for the New York Knicks to win a championship. It's the start of a new month, which means the streamers will be loading up on new movies this week. Some of these movies were released in theaters earlier this year, while others are streaming originals. On Netflix, there are two noteworthy originals coming out this week: one is a heartwarming Christmas adventure, and the other could be a sneaky Oscar dark horse. As for the rest of our selections, a new football documentary about a polarizing player hits Prime Video, and a hilarious comedy heads to Hulu. My top selection of the week belongs to a historical action film that will stream on Peacock. Make sure to check out all five of these movies streaming in the U.S. 5 Terrell & T.O. The unmistakable talent You've made it in life when someone calls you by your initials and people know who it is. Terrell Owens, aka T.O., is in that camp. Owens' talent on the NFL football field was undeniable. The Hall of Fame wide receiver had incredible size, speed, and strength, which he used to beat defenses down the field on his way to scoring the fifth-most total touchdowns (156) in NFL history. With T.O., it wasn't just about talent. Owens had a boisterous personality. From doing push-ups in his driveway during a contract dispute to planting a football on Dallas' "star," Owens always had a flair for the dramatics. These antics certainly rubbed some people the wrong way. In the end, Owens was always himself, something he tries to convey in the Prime Video documentary Terrell & T.O. Terrell & T.O. streams on Prime Video on Nov. 5. Terrell & T.O. Release Date November 5, 2026 Director Alex Stapleton Producers Ben Bitonti, Basil Iwanyk, Mike Ciardi 4 A Dog's Perfect Christmas Prepare for some heart-melting scenes Is there a better combination for a movie than a dog and Christmas? On one hand, audiences tend to have a soft spot for canines in movies. People are still devastated over the dog in Marley & Me. On the other hand, Christmas movies spread holiday cheer and prepare families for the occasion. Put these two winning components together, and you get A Dog's Perfect Christmas. The creators of A Dog's Purpose tell a new story in A Dog's Perfect Christmas, which follows a basset hound named Winstead (voiced by Thomas Haden Church). Sander Goss (Dennis Quaid) is still grieving the loss of his daughter, and his connection to his teenage granddaughter, Ello (Brooke Lena Johnson), is on the rocks. However, the holiday season, a medical emergency, and a new Corgi puppy named Ruby unexpectedly bring this family together. A Dog's Perfect Christmas streams on Netflix on Nov. 4. 3 Super Troopers 3 The boys are back in town I'm amazed by the staying power of Super Troopers. For a movie that came out in 2001, Super Troopers still has a place in pop culture. Personally, I'll still drop lines like "litre o' cola" and "license and registration, chicken (expletive)." The Broken Lizard crew still knows how to make people laugh in today's changing comedic scene, as evidenced by Super Troopers 3, the third movie in the franchise. Our favorite troopers return—Thorny (Jay Chandrasekhar), Farva (Kevin Heffernan), Foster (Paul Soter), Mac (Steve Lemme), and Rabbit (Erik Stolhanske)—for another crazy adventure filled with witty one-liners and wild tomfoolery. Love is in the air for Farva, who is set to marry Thorny's sister. However, Thorny is determined to end their relationship by showcasing Farva's bad side to his family. The Super Troopers movies are all about chemistry, and these five comedians still know how to perfectly riff off one another. Super Troopers 3 streams on Hulu on Nov. 5. 2 Possible Love Forbidden feelings come to light One of the best elements of Netflix is its commitment to international movies. The streamer always has a strong slate of international programming, especially the prestige dramas during awards season. Roma, Society of the Snow, and All Quiet on the Western Front immediately come to mind. I have a feeling Possible Love could join that trio this year. In his first film since 2018's Burning, Lee Chang-dong tackles complicated relationships in Possible Love. The story centers on two couples: Mi-ok (Jeon Do-yeon) and Ho-seok (Sul Kyung-gu), and Ye-ji (Cho Yeo-jeong) and Sang-woo (Zo In-sung). Ye-ji is a documentarian making a film about laid-off workers, so she eventually turns her camera toward Mi-ok's family, as Ho-seok has recently lost his job. As Mi-ok spends more time with Ye-ji, she develops feelings for Ye-ji's husband, Sang-woo, which leads to several complications. Possible Love garnered high praise from critics, and after winning the Grand Jury Prize at Venice Film Festival, it has already been selected as South Korea's official submission for Best International Feature Film at the 2027 Oscars. Possible Love streams on Netflix on Nov. 6. Possible Love Release Date October 23, 2026 Runtime 165 minutes Director Lee Chang-dong 1 The Uprising A legend is born The Uprising suffered from a marketing problem. The confusion surrounding the Robin Hood connection definitely played a part in its poor box office performance. The Uprising carries the tagline "Based on the true events that inspired the legend of Robin Hood," so that connection should've been made clear from the start. Either way, I'm not a marketing expert. What I do know is that the tandem of Paul Greengrass and Andrew Garfield excites me. The Uprising chronicles the Peasants' Revolt of 1381 in England. Garfield plays The Ploughman, a fictionalized farmer who leads the rebellion against King Richard II. Jamie Bell and Cosmo Jarvis play John Ball and Wat Tyler, two historical figures from the rebellion. With Greengrass' immersive filmmaking techniques on display, The Uprising is a riveting action epic that should find the audience it deserves as it heads to streaming. The Uprising streams on Peacock on Nov. 6. The Uprising Release Date September 11, 2026 Keep an eye on these other movies and shows If you're looking for unscripted content, Netflix has some brilliant documentaries, including The Greatest Night in Pop and The One About Matthew Perry. On Paramount+, the streamer has an excellent sci-fi collection that includes Star Trek and Interstellar.
