Four patients have been discharged so far.The incident was reported from the Bedeshwar area of Jamnagar after the patients developed symptoms including fever, vomiting and diarrhoea following the consumption of non-vegetarian food.According to the patients, they had ordered chicken rolls, biryani and chicken popcorn from A-One Bombay Biryani Chicken House in Bedeshwar. They initially received treatment at a private hospital before being shifted to GG Hospital for further care.15 PATIENTS ADMITTED Food Safety Officer Nilesh Jasoliya said the patients had consumed the food around 11 pm and began experiencing symptoms around 11 am the following day."Initially, they received primary treatment at Sadhbhavana Hospital and were later admitted to GG Hospital for better treatment," Jasoliya said. A total of 15 patients were admitted to the hospital following the suspected food poisoning incident. Four have since been discharged, while 11 remain under treatment.FOOD SAMPLES SENT FOR TESTINGFollowing the complaints, a team from the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation's Food Safety Department inspected A-One Bombay Biryani Chicken House.The team collected five food samples from the establishment and sent them to a laboratory in Vadodara for testing. The laboratory report is expected to provide more clarity on the quality of the food and the possible cause of the suspected food poisoning.25 KG RICE DESTROYEDDuring the inspection, food safety officials found around 25 kg of boiled rice stored in unhygienic conditions in the kitchen.The rice was destroyed on the spot by the food safety team. The establishment has also been ordered to remain closed until the necessary improvements and corrective measures are carried out.Officials said further action will depend on the findings of the laboratory tests.- Ends
